In order to be eligible you must have remained employed by your home location and intend to return there following your secondment/assignment to another office/location.
If you are eligible for this relief you are able to deduct the following expenses:
- Travel - the cost of travelling from home (or anywhere) to their temporary place of work
- Accommodation - the reasonable cost of accommodation - including all utilities - near to their temporary place of work
- Food - daily subsistence costs, to cover the cost of meals.
As you are potenitally able to deduct your rental costs and subsistence this relief can lead to thousands of £ in Tax Repayment.
